The First and Only Social Innovation Center of the Region (SIM) was established at Samsun University.

In line with its purpose; To carry out academic and technical research, practices and activities focused on social innovation, social entrepreneurship and social benefit in cooperation with national and international actors, To develop and implement social benefit-oriented projects with public institutions, real and legal persons, To create organization and activity support processes so that central and local government institutions, NGOs, private enterprises and real persons can take part in projects and works focused on social benefit, bulletins, magazines, books, brochures, etc. in printed and electronic media about social problems and social benefit-oriented studies and predictions preparing publications, To organize consultancy and training programs for social entrepreneur candidates and social entrepreneurs in order to develop social entrepreneurship in the region, To create a collaborative work space within the university to host social benefit-oriented studies for social entrepreneurs and organizing trainings to train human resources in the field of social innovation together with other stakeholders in the region are among the activities planned as a priority.
